Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag 2020

We’re already halfway through the year and I’m slightly behind on my reading challenge, but my TBR pile has also doubled in size. I’ve discovered the joy of Maggie Stiefvater’s audiobooks on Spotify, and some incredible Kindle books for under £1. I’ve also been borrowing eBooks from my local library, and I’m looking forward to a time in the future when it’s safe for me to visit in person. Until then, my TBR will continue to grow and grow and grow.

Today, I’m doing the Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag, which is great because I’m currently looking at my reading challenge to remind myself what I’ve read, and I have no memory of reading any of them.

Let’s begin!

Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag

We’re already halfway through the year and I’m somehow slightly ahead on my reading challenge, but my TBR pile has also doubled in size. I’ve rediscovered the joy of my local library – even though their selection is quite limited – and I’ve been picking up books that I’ve never seen before or would’ve never thought to pick up otherwise. In a few months, I’ll be in university and have unlimited access to their h u g e library, and my TBR will continue to grow and grow and grow.

Today, I’m doing the Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag, which is great because I’m currently looking at my reading challenge to remind myself what I’ve read, and I have no memory of reading any of them.

Week Three #MyWIPMay2019

After months of having no motivation to put words on a page, I’m back!

One Camp NaNo has just ended, and another one is about to begin, and I won’t participate in either this year, so I’m taking the blog posts of this month to talk about my current WIP. I found a daily Instagram challenge by @vesselofink, but as I don’t have a dedicated book Instagram account and don’t want to do short blog posts every day, I’m going to try a weekly post and answer a bunch of the questions at once. What I Read In 2018

I’m still working on a post about my favourite books of 2018, so here I am instead to write a recap of the year! I’ve never done one of these end-of-year posts before but Goodreads has this thing where it shows you all your reading statistics for the year and I am a number nerd.

Reading wise, this year has been exciting. It’s been my most ambitious reading year to date, I’ve fallen in love with the stories of many new authors, and I’ve started getting back into reviewing books and reading advanced copies again. This year has also been pretty tough. My mental health has been the worst it’s ever been and I’ve fallen a bit out of love with writing, the one thing I’ve loved for a huge proportion of my life.

But this blog isn’t going to focus on that: it’s going to focus on all the good books I’ve read this year and how I suddenly need to buy a new bookshelf because I’ve filled my third one.

This post might be long. Let’s begin!

NaNo 2018 Updates

Beautiful People’ is a project created by a book blog that I love (Paper Fury), aimed at writers. They used to post a list of ten questions for people to answer every month, designed to help you get to know their characters – their quirks, their flaws, their personality, and who they are. Occasionally, there are groups of questions aimed at the writers and their writing progress, rather than just what they’re writing about. In this case, it’s inspired by NaNoWriMo!

For this blog, I’m going to be answering a group of questions. I believe that this is the November 2016 group and I’d love to see everyone else’s responses to these questions. I’ll put the complete list of questions at the very end of the blog.

Let’s begin!
